So everything has been going great. The feedback and support for Missing Girls & Lost Boys has been amazing, while having the conversation with readers about their love for the characters has truly been the highlight. So was I nervous about doing my first ever book event? Yes. Petrified!
April was the month I had been working towards with the PASCIFY convention. It included author take-overs and pre-order forms, but at no point was I expecting the day that I got. My little table was set, and I was in a hall with nearly a hundred authors, but people still came to see me. The fact that anyone had heard or been recommended my book made my heart swell every time.
But then came the award.
I was amazed to have even been nominated for the Sci-Fi readers choice PASCIFY award. The competition I was up against, made me even question if I should abandon my table to go to the ceremony, but I decided to go and celebrate the other nominees and winners.
And then my book was called––cue the ugly crying.
My little debut had received enough votes to surpass the seasoned nominees I had been grouped with, and I will never stop being surprised by this.
