Welcome to my list of obsessions. I will update this regularly, like a notice board of the latest books, authors, or TV shows/movies that have taken over my life. If you ever want to spark a conversation, pick anything from the list below, and watch me enter full, embarrassing geek mode. Also use this list if you wish to avoid this version of me.
Either way, they're in no particular order...
My own books. Is that shameful? It probably should be, but no one loves my characters more than me.
The entire Throne of Glass series. Any conversation this sparks will never end. You have been warned.
Ashley Poston and anything she has written. The Queen of perfect book boyfriends.
The Familar by Leigh Bardugo. And the Six of Crows Duology. Perfection!
The House in the Cerulean Sea. Cutest-book-ever.
The Empyrean series.
Quicksilver, and more specifically Carrion Swift.
Funny Story by Emily Henry.
ACOTAR, but you need to admit ACOMAF and ACOWAR are a tier above. And you cannot convince me to love Nesta. It's best I warn you now.
The Ruinous Love trilogy. The day I see those Kane brothers in an adaptation will be memorable.
The Hunger Games - My first book obsession, but I'm obsessed with the movies too. For extra enthusiasm, talk to me about Haymitch. One of my all time favourite character. Ever.
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Ryland Grace and Rocky!
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. Sam & Sadie forever!
Nick Hornby's High Fidelity. I'm a sucker for sad, grumpy MMC's.
Pride & Prejudice -- BUT -- the Colin Firth BBC mini-series. *Sighs and melts*
Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood's book and the TV series.
Daisy Jones and the Six - Taylor Jenkins Reid's book and the TV Series.
Manacled by Senlinyu - Forever a Dramoine convert. It's ruined Harry Potter for me and I'm not even mad.
The dystopian genre. I gravitate towards it in books and TV/Film. Children of Men, 1984, the Scythe series, The Grace Year, and so many more. If I haven't seen it, I still want to hear about all recommendations. My door is always open to dystopian.
Coheed and Cambria. They're my favourite band.
Early 2000's rock and emo music. Twenty years later I'm still rocking the same playlist I adored as a teenager, and I have no plans to change that.
Movies and TV in general. I was raised in a VHS/DVD rental store so I've been consuming since I could sit up in front of a TV. My love for fantasy & sci-fi has been life long. Many of my obsessions have been in this format so to give a rough idea, we're talking the MCU, 1900/2000 comedies, and American sitcoms. Friends, New Girl, Modern Family, Scrubs and Frasier will work through my schedule like regular doses of therapy.
