Welcome to 2025

In a bid to begin 2025 right, I set myself some targets. And because I’ve announced them aloud, they have to be done.

An 'important' one is my Goodreads reading target. Me and my husband competitively read, and although my revisions on my own work never count towards our Goodreads target, I try my best to keep up. With an ever growing TBR list, I have set myself a target of twenty for the year, while hoping to clear through as much of my physical shelf as possible.

The second target of the year has been running. After a broken knee and all the ridiculous repair work my body required to get to regular walking level, I haven’t run in three years. My little––not so little, six foot tall––brother ran the 2024 Great North Run, and I was inspired to do the same. This is the year I hastily signed up for two Half-Marathons (Manchester and GNR). The training begins and I can only hope that I make it.

Target number three is my writing. With my tenth manuscript set for completion, this is the year that I get my work into the world. Whether it is via traditional or self-publishing, I don’t know. But before the year is through, I should hope that Missing Girls and Lost Boys has begun its trajectory into the ethos.
